Eleven hours, 700 miles. That’s enough for one day. If I never have to drive my poor car over another mountain pass, I’m okay with that. Also, Utah is too windy to enjoy driving through, but I made it across and stopped for the night in St. George.

Chilling in Amarillo. Got towed into town just after 1 a.m. Staying at Motel 6. Nathan’s grandpa hooked me up with a mechanic, so now we wait. Went to Walmart to get a drink and ran into my old friend Ron. Back in my room now watching tennis. TTFN.

Car trouble. I’m in the middle of nowhere waiting for a tow to Amarillo, which is 90 miles away. They should be here around 9 p.m., and I hope to be in a motel by 11. Anyone wanna come hang out?

So, I’m posting to my blog by e-mail. This would have come in handy during the power outage over the weekend, as I could have posted by sending text messages from my phone (what has come to be called “moblogging”). Unfortunately, the idea came to me last minute and I didn’t have enough time to get everything set up before Rita came barrelling through some other part of Texas. I’ll be ready next time.
