You know what I like? Jazz apples!
I’ve eaten a couple Jazz apples this week with my lunch. Highly recommended, my friends. They have a sweet, slightly tart flavor with a hint of something familiar. I couldn’t identify it the first time I ate one of these apples, but after today, I’m fairly certain it’s the taste of grapes.
You may have heard that the space shuttle Atlantis landed in California today. I remember when I lived in Ventura, California, in ‘82 or ‘83, my family all went out into the front yard to listen for the sonic boom and watch the shuttle come in for a landing. So, I had hopes of a similar experience this afternoon.
Unfortunately, on my way outside, I was asked to send off a quick email and was delayed a few minutes. After I walked out of the building, two of my coworkers met me and said I missed it, but that I didn’t miss much. The sonic boom was barely audible and the shuttle was nowhere in sight. Oh well. Since the last time a shuttle landed in California was 2005, I suppose I will simply have to wait.

I was wondering why you said you liked Jazz. Now I know.

You know, I’ve never tasted one before. But Wikipedia helped me out here.

That article looks a bit out of date, but it is interesting to see that Jazz apples are a cross between Gala and Braeburn. Thanks for the research, Genie!
